Measurements for Cataract surgery

After your eye care provider has decided that cataract surgery is the best option to improve your vision, the next step is measuring certain parameters of the eye to help us decide which power intraocular lens (IOL) to place in the eye once the cataract has been removed. While a simplification of the process, we measure the length of the eye and curvature of the cornea to determine the power of the IOL we choose. The Lenstar is the newest technology for this measurement process, and provides other useful information related to astigmatism of the cornea.
